Blog Changes

I’m making some changes to my blog roll. These are the actual blogs I read in my RSS reader, so I’m culling out some that I find myself skipping all the entries for.

I’ve got a little blogging pet peeve. I hate blogs that are set up so clicking on any external link opens a new window. I have to really like your blog to keep reading it if you do that. I feel “What give you the right to open a new window in my browser?” I don’t use multiple windows much any more since I got tabs, so I really don’t like it when I get kicked into a new window. And I can’t even use the back button to get back to your blog. Is the thinking your blog entry is so important I don’t want to lose it by opening a link?

Anyway some blogs may disappear because of that.

I’ve also added a new group of blogs related to poker. I may work on my blog roll script to display my folders as well. We’ll see. Like I need another programming project.

Lastly I’m adding a new category to the blog. Role Playing Games. I’m going to spend some more time reading blogs related to playing role playing game in the real world, not online. So I gave it a new category before posting my first link.

  1. Heyy, great blog. I linked over from Kim DuToit’s site.

Glad to see there are other Mac users in the world

What software do you use for blogging? I really like how it lists what music was playing while you wrote a post. Is that some sort of Apple Script that is picked up from iTunes? Do you code it yourself?

  2. I used Kung Log (http://www.kung-foo.tv/ecto/) which is now ecto to edit posts. It has a button for adding the current song from iTunes like it is in my posts.

Kung Log used to be free and I’ve been using it for awhile. I never updated to ecto. If you want Kung Log and can’t find it to download let me know and I’ll send you a copy.
